Hate and Hope

Posted by webbmaster on March 10, 2008

Hate

The World Trade Centers are a symbol for many Americans of tragedy, death, and more importantly hate. When people see this picture, the immediate thought is usually of terrorism and the middle east. It gives us feelings of hatred towards terrorists and people such as Osama bin Laden and Saddam. This symbol could be used as a motivational and persuasion tool for showing why America needs to fight terrorism.

Hope

The third picture (the one with the cross), as well as several of the other pictures, symbolizes a chance at a new beginning. The light shining through the clouds is a ray of hope that lets us know that the past is the past and the future looks bright. This picture, because of the cross and sky, is probably mostly viewed as a symbol for hope by religious people who believe in God.

You’ve collected some good images. You point out something really interesting – how a really negative image can be used as motivation for something (possibly) positive.
